Brick Stitch Bracelet Tutorial

I have returned to my favourite beading stitch for this weeks tutorial. I have made a brick stitch bracelet with flower design. I keep seeing people online get excited about Autumn and Halloween but I honestly just want to hold onto summer a little longer so my bracelet has a pretty pastel pink and purple colour scheme.

Tools and Supplies

I have used size 11 Delia beads for this pattern in –

• Opaque white
• Matte Rose
• Sparkling Purple
• Opaque Eucalyptus

You will also need a clasp, beading needle and thread.

About the Brick Stitch Bracelet Pattern

This is a beginner friendly pattern as it repeats all the way down and there are no tricky moves. The video shows two complete flower sections before leaving to complete the rest off camera. You must however, be comfortable with knotting threads and adding thread during beading. I always consider brick stitch as a thread hungry stitch and using a sufficient length of thread from the beginning would be very difficult.

I have used a light summery colour scheme but honestly this would look good in a variety of colours. I tried it with pale blue flowers with white centres and a silver surround. It looked lovely but didn’t show up well on camera. If you want a more earthy look, then darken the green and opt for a more muted pink and brown combinations. In this instance dark yellow flower centres would look great.

I have finished my bracelet with a simple magnetic clasp but you could easily use jump rings and a lobster claw clasp.
