Today’s tutorial is showing how to do tubular brick stitch and then, once the basics have been shown, we move on to make the cutest flower pattern earrings using tubular brick stitch. The beaded section is finished off with gorgeous sparkly yellow bicones and now I have a pair of earrings ready for Spring.
This was not the tutorial I had originally planned for today but I was working on my beaded bowl (if you have watched my most recent vlogs you will have seen what this is) and I experimented with adding a section of tubular brick stitch to it. It then occurred to me that I had never shared tubular brick stitch as a tutorial before. Before I knew it, my mind was working on a tubular brick stitch pattern and the other pattern that I had already worked out for this week was put to one side.
This pattern could easily be made with peyote stitch and then stitched together but I wanted to do brick stitch. The beauty of tubular brick stitch over peyote is that it is beaded up in it’s tubular shape so you don’t need to go back to stitch it up once all the beads have been added.
The video tutorial is linked below.

Tubular Brick Stitch Earring Tutorial
I really do think that these are the cutest earrings. I made them with a navy base colour as I wear a lot of blue clothes and I knew that I would want to wear these frequently. I think that the colours in these earrings could so easily be altered to a very different colour palette. They would look lovely in pastels for a very Spring/ Summer look but they could easily be made with dark red and yellow flowers with a brown and gold base for a more earthy, Autumnal look.
