There is nothing I love more than the season changing from Winter into Spring. That sense of everything being lighter (I live in the UK and Winter can be so dull) and the days getting longer.
I really want to capture that feeling of things coming back to life in my crafting so I set about designing my Sheep in a Field peyote triangle pattern. Now obviously, sheep exist all year around but I was thinking specifically about Spring lambs jumping through fields.
This pattern features three sheep or lambs standing in a field full of yellow flowers. They are set against a sky coloured background with clouds floating by in the sky. I designed it with memories of being in the countryside in the spring/summer , the fields are full of animals, the birds are chirping and the sun is shining down on us.
This pdf pattern is available in my Etsy shop so I thought I would just share a little about it here before sharing my little YouTube short of me making it.

Beads, Supplies and What Is In The Pattern
As ever with these type of patterns, the beads and general beading supplies are limited. I have used :
- Size 11 Delica beads in 7 different colours
- A beading needle
- Beading thread
- Sheep in a Field bead pattern
I have detailed the exact colours of beads needed in the pattern but the basics are a white, light grey, light green, darker green, yellow, pale blue and black.
For this pattern you will need to have an understanding of how to make peyote triangles but fear not, I do have free peyote triangle tutorials available, such as my leopard print peyote triangle earrings tutorial and my holly peyote triangle earrings tutorial.
You will also need to be able to add more thread to your beading as it grows and finish off your beading by knotting (if you wish to) and weaving in the ends of your threads.
Included in this pattern is :
- Delica bead list (size 11)
- Bead count
- Basic instructions (such as thread length) with a video link on how to make peyote triangles
- Diagram with symbols
- Word chart
The finished peyote triangle measures 6.5cm (2.5″) along each length and has 26 rows of beading.

I have a small Christmas tree sitting on a shelf above my craft desk where I hang all my beading projects all year round. To do this I will simply add a jump ring in one of the ‘herringbone’ spaces at the top of one of the triangle’s points. I would love to hear how you all display or use your peyote triangles.
This bead weaving pattern is perfect for those looking for a spring/summer project inspired by the countryside.
Sheep in a Field Peyote Triangle Video
I hope that this is the first of many such Spring/Summer bead projects. I have so many ideas but as ever will be limited to how fast I can bead. I may go faster if I didn’t watch so much Netflix whilst I was beading!
If you do fancy having a go at this sheep peyote triangle pattern then please do check it out in my Etsy shop.
Thanks for reading and happy beading,
Hannah x
