Calling all rabbit and beading lovers! I wanted to pop on today to share my new Peyote triangle pdf pattern – A cute pattern, featuring three adorable rabbit faces surrounded by vibrant flowers. This Peyote Triangle Rabbit with Flowers pattern is available to buy in my Etsy shop. As it is one of my more detailed patterns, I have to charge a little for it but fear not, I have a basic Peyote rabbit tutorial coming out in the few days!
What is a Peyote Triangle and How Do You Make One?
A Peyote triangle is, as it’s name suggests, is a beaded triangle made using peyote stitch but it has a twist. Instead of making straight lines of Peyote, the triangle is formed with circular peyote. This means that the beading starts in the centre of the triangle and it works around all three sides in rows; once one row of one side has been beaded you move around to the next. Once all three sides have been beaded you step up to move on to the next row.
At the points of each side, two beads are picked up and then one bead is added as in standard Peyote along the straight edges. This is easier to understand if you see it in action so here is my Peyote Triangle Tutorial.
Picking up two beads at the triangle points means that the Peyote triangle forms a really cool herringbone type pattern in the beads that runs from the middle of the triangle and out to each triangle point. You can see this clearly in the image below.

I would suggest that a basic understanding of how to make a Peyote triangle is needed before tackling this pattern but once you have the basics down it’s just a matter of reading the pattern. The included word chart tells you which beads are needed for each row and the diagram shows the finished pattern.

Once you have the pattern in hand, you can either use the beads as directed in the pattern or start selecting from the Delica beads you have in your beading stash.

Choosing Your Own Beads
Before starting your project, take some time to consider the color scheme and design of your pattern. Selecting beads that complement each other and the overall aesthetic of the design will help bring your project to life. Remember that Delica beads come in a wide range of colors and finishes, so take some time to explore your options and find the perfect combination for your project.
If you are choosing your own bead colours, I would suggest making sure your beads contrast enough so that all details in your Peyote triangle are clear and easy to see. It may be tempting to make it all in pastel shades if you are beading this as an Easter project but having a darker background in this instance will ensure that the rabbits and flowers are clear.
Once you have chosen your beads, be sure to have enough on hand to complete the entire project. Running out of a specific color or bead size halfway through can be frustrating and may disrupt the flow of your creativity. Unfinished projects are very frustrating to have hanging around!

Finished Peyote Triangle Rabbits With Flowers
Once you have finished your triangle it is up to you how you use it. tI could be made into jewellery or be used as decoration if you have an Easter tree or hang decorations around. How will you use yours?
