Beaded Christmas Wreath Ornament – A Free Beading Tutorial

Beaded Christmas wreath ornament tutorial

I have started my festive crafting this week with this beaded Christmas wreath ornament tutorial. What is Christmas without a little sparkly magic so I have used faceted glass beads with silver lined seed beads.

This beaded wreath uses a base of right angle weave to form the over all green and red rounded shape and then I show how to add a red beaded bow and a gold garland wrapping around it.

This tutorial may be more suited to those with some beading experience as it can be a little fiddly when folding the right angle weave section over.

This is a video tutorial so I will post the video at the end of this post (don’t worry, I won’t waffle on for long!)

Alternative Colours and Beads

I have opted to make my wreath in traditional red, green and gold but if your decorating style is more adventurous than mine then I think it would look fantastic in other colours. I kept thinking that I should make it with pink and purple beads with silver details as I think it would look pretty cool like that.

I have used faceted beads for my wreath shape as I think that they sit well together and I wanted the sparkle that the cut faceted faces give. Feel free to experiment with round beads or a larger size of faceted bead. I used what I had to hand. If I had had more red beads in my beading box then I would definitely have made mine a little bit bigger.
