Polymer Clay

Polymer Clay Rabbit

I did promise in my last post that I had been working on a few new bits and with Easter in mind I have been making clay rabbit keyrings for my Etsy shop. They are very cute (although I was worried at first that their teeth made them look sinister!) so if they are popular I will add them to my permanent keyring range.

There are quite a few fiddly bits to this design but so worth it in the end. I used white glitter clay as my rabbit body because I love it and find it easier to work with than the plain white. No idea why that is though.

He had to have a little tail but the side view looks sooooo funny.

I have made 10 rabbit keyrings in total and I have also been asked if I could make some as hanging ornaments and free-standing ornaments so it looks like there will be more rabbits on the clay table before too long πŸ™‚

Just look at that face.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend. We currently have snow so I’m wondering if it was more appropriate to be making Christmas decorations!

  1. Oh they are very cute! I think their teeth give them character… They don’t look sinister (though the knights of the round table thought that about the cute bunny in monty pythons quest for the holy grail… So I guess you never know πŸ˜‚)!

  2. You know, since I saw this on instagram it has been bugging me because the bunny reminds me of someone but I cannot for the life of me think who!
The bunny is really cute so i hope whoever it reminds me of is too!πŸ˜„

    1. Lol, I was actually sat laughing out loud to this. Well if you do remember who it reminds you of you will have to let me know if it is because they are cute or if those sinister teeth are to blame πŸ˜€

  3. awwww, these are just too sweet for words Hannah.
GREAT design. Fabulous colours … and not only do they make incredible keyrings, but they would make BRILLIANT ZIP PULLS for little ones.

Coats with zips would look so individual with one of these hanging off the zip ‘handle’ and the little one would always have a ‘friend’ with them.

Amazing makes Hannah… but then they would be … they’re your design, and you design beautiful things that I fall in love with every time.

  4. The talent you have is amazing; congrats on running a successful Etsy shop. I was reading some of your other posts and they all look like the asthesticly pleasing bujo drawings I see on instagram. I’m just starting out; I make clay lamps and other clay items. I haven’t mastered working with polymer clay yet but I’m getting better. I would love to talk more! My email is toonieunihorntreats@gmail.com looking forward to a new blogging friend.

    1. Hello, Thank you for such a lovely comment. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you but I ended up taking an unplanned break from blogging!

Polymer clay is a lot of fun and there is so much to learn. Every time I sit to make something I figure something new out.

Always happy to have a new blogging friend πŸ™‚ Hannah x

      1. Happy too, we artists have to encourage one another. Taking a break is understandable, I’ve been inconsistent with making posts due to depression and living out of boxes. My new place wasn’t ready in time but hopefully it will be by Wednesday.
I have been having fun with polymer now that I’ve understood how to properly work it.

      2. Hello Raquel,

Sorry to hear that things have been difficult. I hope your new place is ready now and that you are able to move in.

Are you going to blog your polymer clay makes? It’s always nice to see what others have made πŸ˜ƒ

        Hxx

      3. Thank you Hannah I appreciate it. Having my own space is important.
Of course I will although more often than not my creations will be paper clay.
