Just thought I’d share a new baby card I made for a friend earlier this week. The sun is shining here so I decided to make a washing line full of baby vests.
The photo was taken rather hastily one morning before putting in the envelope so the quality isn’t great but each vest spells out ‘Isabel’. I drew myself a template of a baby vest, drew round it 6 times and coloured each on with my Promarkers. I struggled to get enough depth of colour (must practise more!) so went over the top with Faber-Castell Polychromo pencils. I used cut down cocktail sticks and bakers twine for the washing line and used a basic cloud stamp to make the background. The parents seemed really pleased with it which always makes me happy 🙂
Such a sweet card! I think you did great coloring 🙂
Thank you ☺
Your card looks wonderful. The vests turned out particularly well, lots of colour and the shading gave a good dimension to them. Many years ago I made a stencil for little Christmas stockings…it was fiddly work but the result was worth it. I have the prisma colour pencils and am embarrassed to say I haven’t used them much
Thank you. The colouring certainly improved once I added the pencils. I can get shading with them far better than I can my promarkers. Love the idea of Christmas stocking stencils. I may have to steal it!
Go right ahead! They made the cutest Christmas cards x
