Wedding Card

I’m afraid its another shaker card. For a special occasion its worth putting in the effort and time to make a special card. I think one of the best bits of making your own cards is being able to personalise them. This was made for my Cousin and her new hubby.

Wedding Card

Craft stash used:

  • Anita’s (Sugarloaf Inc.) wedding stamp
  • Alphabet and Congratulations stamp (brand unknown)
  • VersaMark ink pad and pen, Memento ink pad and pen in tuxedo black, silver embossing powder, sequins and beads, iridescent paper, crystal ultrafine glitter, glue pen, ribbon, acetate, self adhesive gems and a small punched heart.

I started by stamping dancing couple on white card and stamped again on to an iridescent paper/lightweight card. The couple were lightly coloured in with pencils and I cut the dress out of the image on the iridescent card and paper pieced it over the dress on the white card. I cut the couple out and went around the edge with a black pen to give a really crisp finish to make sure no white edge was showing. I drew a heart on a separate piece of white card and cut this out to make a window. I drew around the heart window with my VersaMark pen and embossed this is silver. I also stamped and embossed my greeting and the names of my Cousin and hubby. I cut the banner shapes and pressed the edges into my VersaMark ink so I could also emboss them in silver.

To finish the card I glued an acetate sheet behind the window and edged it with double thickness of foam tape. Filled the window with my confetti (sequins and bead) and stuck a piece of the same iridescent card used on the dress  behind the window. Tied on some ribbon and stuck it all together as in the photo. To really make the dress stand out I used my glue pen to go over the tiara and folds in the dress and sprinkled on my glitter. I also added self adhesive gems to her hair and waist. A small embossed heart finished the sentiment.

Phew, did you make it to the end? My Dad has asked me to make a wedding card for a wedding he is playing at. Guess what I’ll be making again………
