Well, yesterday was the final day of the 30 day colouring challenge held by Kathy from The Daily Marker *sob, sob*
It has been a great challenge in so many ways; I have pushed myself and gained confidence in what I can do, I have used my supplies, old and new, to create cards plus I have images left to make into cards, I have discovered great people to follow and I have had an excuse for a whole month to put myself first and give myself a chance to just sit and create something. After my son’s illness I needed this.
I set myself the challenge for the last day that I would try something that I have never done before – no line colouring. You basically stamp the image in a really light ink colour and then colour/paint it. Sounds so simple but it really isn’t. You don’t realise how much you rely on that black stamped line to guide the colouring. I chose a Santoro Gorjuss Girl for my image.
I stamped the image with Tattered Rose Distress Ink and painted with watercolours. The best thing about using the Distress Ink pads for stamping is that they are water soluble so the ink virtually disappears and you paint. As ever, my picture doesn’t quite do the colours justice – I will figure out one day how to take a decent photo!
Any way, onto March – I’m determined not to loose the momentum I currently have with my crafting. I have a few ideas of what I would like to achieve but first I must get some housework done!!!
