A few week ago I was asked again by Beads Direct to design a piece of jewellery and write a tutorial for their website. I was required to use beads from their new stock. Before replying I had a quick look through their ‘New’ section and found the most gorgeous Agate beads in so many lovely colours.
Once I had agreed I had to make my final decision on the beads. I couldn’t choose just one colour so came up with the idea of making a layered necklace with the lowest layer being larger beads than the middle layer and a delicate chain to sit around the neck for the highest layer.
I also wanted to make it feel summery so I chose light airy coloured beads – a cool aqua and sunny orange. The combination went surprisingly well and makes me think of the seaside. I think I may have jinxed the British weather though as it was around this time that we got hammered with days and days of rain.
I teamed this with a cute feather charm.

I have some beads left over so I will make myself some bracelets with them. I may also make a few more layered necklaces as I really liked how this one turned out.
I too like how this turned out. Really nice.
Thank you. It is quite different to a lot of my jewellery makes but I am looking forward to wearing it 🙂
