Shrink Plastic Fun

I love it when I can use card making things to make jewellery. I like to think I’m getting the most out of the money I spent buying it all – I dread to think over the years how much my hobby has cost me (could I have bought a small house instead?) Feeling the need to do something other than card making I dug out my shrink plastic.

Heart Pendant (sp)

Crafty stash used:

  • Clear shrink plastic
  • Sizzix stamp and die – banners
  • Sizzix Bigz die – Hearts
  • Spellbinders nestabilities – circle
  • Promarkers
  • UTEE
  • Jewellery findings

For the banners I simply cut the shapes on my bigshot and stamped them with one of the stamps in the ‘banners’ set in Ranger archival ink. On the other side I coloured them with my Pro Markers, punched out holes and used my heat gun to shrink them.

The circle/heart pendant was made in a similar way only when both pieces were shrunk I put the heart on top of the circle and heated again with the hope that the plastic heart would fuse to the circle. Eventually it did but I had to have several attempts. They were both finished my pressing them in to my Versamark ink pad, sprinkling on the UTEE (Ultra thick embossing enamel) and melting with my heat gun. They each had two coats of UTEE.

No fancy jewellery techniques needed just jump rings to attach together and chain. Light and airy pieces perfect for summer.
