Bird Birthday Card

It was my Sister-in-Law’s birthday last week. She loves birds and spends most of her free time bird ringing so what else would I put on her Birthday card?!

Ruth Paper Bird

Crafty stash used –

  • Sizzix Bigz Birds die
  • First Edition New Bloom paper pad
  • Sentiment stamp (brand unknown), sequins, white embossing powder, white and purple card and silver peel off borders

I started by die cutting the bird and used the cut out shape as a template. The die has two birds on it too close together so I couldn’t cut it once and just use the negative shape. I drew round the bird on the purple card and cut it out. With that all ready I cut strips of my chosen patterned paper and glued them onto a piece of card. Stamped and embossed my ‘Happy Birthday’ and assembled as shown, using 3D foam on the purple bird piece to add dimension.

I was really pleased with the clean and simple look of this card and I’m now contemplating what variations I can come up with.
