Here is a card made for my Nephew’s 5th birthday. When it is a card for a family member it is always fun to make something a little more detailed although I do wish now that I had bought the matching dies – I think I spent just as much time cutting out as I did colouring them.
Crafty stash used –
- Lawn Fawn stamps – Critters from the Past
- Promarkers – Warm Grey 2 – 5, Burnt Sienna, Caramel, Sandstone, Olive Green, Marsh Green, Pear Green and Blender pen.
- Distress Ink pads – Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy and Salty Ocean
- Memento Ink pad – Tuxedo Black
The card is mainly made from stamped images coloured and cut out. I used the distress ink pads with a blending tool to create the background by dragging the colour down over a torn paper edge to give the effect of rough ground and then blended the rest of the colour over the card.
I hope Monday has been kind to you. Thanks for stopping by.

Great card. Bet your nephew loves it. Your cutting out is amazing – it looks like you did use the dies!
Thank you. He seemed to like 🙂 The cutting was painful lol. I was determined to keep it really neat!
Adorable! Well done you clever thing. I love this one so much I’d willingly buy it at a craft fair or some such place. ~ Cobs x
Thank you. I was a little chuffed with the result. Can’t wait to play a little more with them and I may have bought the set with unicorns in……….. Oops!
