Bead Weaving Jewellery

Hello!

I’ve continued (mostly) with beading weaving over the last week or so. As mentioned in my previous post I have made my snowflake necklace in 2 other colours. I made these a little simpler with only 3 rosettes to each necklace.

I also started a really basic necklace that just grew as I went along. It was supposed to be a basic string of pearls decorated with seed beads and gorgeous gold/copper firepolish beads. It became more of a statement piece.

I then decided that I would teach myself peyote stitch. I used a tutorial in the book ‘Beadweaving Beyond the Basics’ by Kassie Shaw. Its a lovely book and perfect for anyone, like me, who loves to flick through oohing and ahhing over pretty pictures. Here are the earrings inspired by the book.

I have a whole row of earrings waiting to be photographed and my Fimo has also been out so I have a whole load of beads and pendants ready for finishing. Here is a sneaky peek at some new Fimo Leaf Metal I have tried out.

Oh my, it’s just so pretty.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. The ‘statement piece’ is amazing. I love the combination of colours you used. The Fimo looks pretty exciting too.

      1. Great, glad you’re enjoying it. You’re going to have so many pretty things, are you going to sell them? Christmas craft fair maybe? Xx

      2. Hi, yes the plan is to sell them. I have been booked myself in for a craft fair in October (gulp) so I’m now making like crazy. Always the best idea to book these things when you have nothing to sell! Hxx

  3. WOW Hannah! These are all INCREDIBLE!
Ohh, you’re so clever with the bead weaving, and I love all the necklaces, but … I do rather adore that pearl one. It looks like a tiara for the neck. Absolutely stunning.

Love the polymer clay leaf ‘buttons’. They look so decadent; so expensive and so rich in beauty.

Well done my wonderful artistic friend. You just keep getting better and better.

    1. Thank you so much Cobs. I had never thought of it as a tiara for the neck but I see what you mean. I have been tempted to try making tiara’s too.

I have made the clay leaf ‘buttons’ into jewellery now. I’m pretty pleased with them 😃 I’m itching to get my clay out again so I can keep playing with the metal leaf but I had better make some jewellery with the beads I currently have. Hannah x

  4. Hellon again Hannah . . .
I’m really sorry if you’ve been inundated with awards recently but .. I’ve nominated you for The Happines Tag – because you and your blog make me so happy

You can read about it here; https://thecobweboriumemporium.wordpress.com/2016/09/26/happiness-the-greatest-gift/

There’s not really a lot to it. You just have to list 5 things which make you happy, then pass the award onto 5 blogs which make you happy to read them.
BUT .. if you don’t want to do this it’s totally OK. You KNOW I’ll still love you to pieces.
    Sending squidges ~ Cobs. x

P.S. What did you make those ‘buttons’ into? Pendants? Or maybe Brooches by any chance? If so … have you sold them all?

    1. Thank you so much Cobs for the nomination – I shall try to get on with it over the next few days. I was very excited to get your message as this is only my second nomination 🙂

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I really hate rushing off a reply and I’ve had my little boy home all week. He is currently amused by youtube giving me the chance to sit and think 🙂

I have made the ‘buttons’ into jewellery now and I have just blogged them. I made a pair of earrings, 2 necklaces and a bracelet. I didn’t think of brooches but they would made a lovely brooch (reminder to myself to but brooch backs!) I still have them as this is their first outing so to speak.

Thank you again Cobs for thinking of me. Hannah xx

      1. If you make more like the big one .. and make it into a brooch …. I would very much like to buy it. Please let me.

Hope the little one is better soon. Poor baby. Right … I’m off to see this new blog post of yours.
Oodles of love ~ Cobs. x

      2. Great – next time my Fimo is out I shall get onto it (hopefully next week) 🙂

Young man in improving slowly thanks. How he can get the same sniffles as everyone else and become so very ill is beyond me. I’m keeping an eye (well half an eye at the moment lol) on him. Doctor’s orders!!!

        Hannah x
