A few recent card makes for family and friends birthday in January. I had 3 to make and not much time so I kept them simple but fun (I hope).
The first two use one of my favourite stamp sets – Bold Pop Design stamp and die set from Hero Arts and Sizzix.
The cards are pretty self explanatory. For the first card I masked out a panel where I didn’t want any stamping and then went to town with the stamps. Once the mask was removed the inked edge wasn’t quite as neat as I would have liked so I added that glitter border. The second card is simply stamped and I used the coordinating dies to cut out two of the flowers.
This card was made for my Dad. We all know chaps can be hard to make cards for (sorry Dad) and I’ve already made cards with trains or sport images in previous years. It’s a little hard to see but the star was cut out of card backed with double sided sticky tape and then covered in gilding flakes for some shine. The black panel also has a star shape cut out of it. Because the gilding flakes were a mix of gold, silver and copper I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder and decorated with gold thread. He thanked me for it and said he liked it so what more can I ask for – *waving* Hello Dad if you are reading this!
That’s all for tonight. It’s been a long day and my bed is calling. Hope Monday has been kind to you.

It’s often harder to make simple cards, but you’ve done a great job on these
Thank you so much 😀
All three are fab. The gilded star is quite stunning, especially with the black surround!
Thank you. I had forgotten how lovely gilding flakes are. I’m ashamed to say I have 3 tubs of the stuff and hardly touch it. Hannah x
Lol! Rest easy. I have more tubs and am equally guilty of underusing them.
Ha ha 😄
Such fun
They were fun to make 😃
Aw these are fabulous! All lovely but … if I had to pick a favourite … I think I’d probably choose ….. the second one. Or would it be … hmm see, I can’t choose. lol
