Hello!
I’m still working on the illustration challenge on Facebook.
Week 5 was peacock and it sounded so simple. I thought I would have fun with lots of bold colours and draw lots of feathers but the reality is that when I sat at my desk I came up with nothing. A poorly son may have zapped some of my energy. Desperate not to fall behind I decided that I would have a play with my watercolours and try to paint some feathers.
This is attempt 5! Still not happy with it but it’s something and I don’t feel as if I have totally let myself down by giving up for this week.
I splashed around some gold paint and let the colours run a little. Maybe I should have carried on trying as this was definitely an improvement on the first feather but the new week starts on a Wednesday for the challenge and I want to actually have half a chance at keeping up this week.
Thanks for stopping by.

This is lovely, those colours are perfect
Thank you 😃 It was lovely to use some bolder colours but that brown/red colour was difficult to use. When it ran into the blue and green I got the most revolting shade of grey 😄 Hannah x
As long as you can smile about it and had fun playing it’s not a bad thing x
It’s beautiful Hannah! I love peacocks, the colours are just stunning xx
Aw, thank you Vicki. It was fun to use colours on my watercolour palette 🎨 that I never really touch. Hxx
I think it is beautiful! Watercolor seems harder, I love the colors and the texture! xx
Thank you so much Ruthie. Possibly just not my normal, controlled way of drawing/painting but I did have fun with it 😃
A lovely feather! I really like the spots of colour. You have no idea how many times I have tried and failed miserably to do even this! You are way better than you let yourself think you are!
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment. I think it’s too easy to get very critical of your own work when you sit staring at it for so long! Hannah x
