I had intended to post one of these pictures last week but the week just flew by and before I knew it I was eating chocolate and drawing an Easter rabbit so it is a bit of a ‘buy one get one free’ blog post today!
As always, when the kids are on school holidays the jewellery making comes to a standstill and the paints come out. My first drawing was intended to get me more used to my lovely Albrect Durer watercolour pencils. I began by laying down my pencil drawing (only lightly colouring the petals) and then running a damp paintbrush over the top. Once dried I went back over with the same colour pencils to add details.

The second painting was the Easter rabbit that seems to have become a little tradition of mine. Like last years drawing I have opted for rabbit in flowers again because, you know, Spring and all that!

This chap was super hard to photograph as I deliberately kept his colours light and airy but it does mean that he doesn’t show well in any of the photos I took. Mr Bunny was painted with my pan watercolours and a little added details with Polychromo pencils.
I am back to the jewellery making this week (kids are back in school!!!) so there should be more jewellery soon.

Those are lovely! Drawing is not my thing so I am in awe of people who can. The soft colours really suit the subjects.
Thank you so much. The soft colours really go against all my instincts (I love colour!) but I am glad you agree that these look better in more pastel shades 🙂
Very nice. Love the colors.
Thank you 🙂
These are super cute. I’m glad you had time to paint 😊
Thank you. I always forget how relaxing it is to just sit and draw for no particular reason. Hopefully this won’t be it until the kids are off on school holidays again!
This is so cute Hannah!
I do feel your pain – photographing anything light on a white background is a sod!
It seemed to put the whole picture out of focus. I shall just have to use bold colours from now on!
I love the bunny. So cute!
Thank you. Whenever I try to draw rabbits they tend to look really cross! Glad this one turned out cute 😀
